Kiran Millwood Hargrave was born in London in 1990. She has been publishing poetry and short stories since 2009, when her short story ‘Art Lover’ was selected to appear in Forest Publication’s Book of Bedtime Stories. Since this, her poetry has been selected to appear in magazines such as Orbis, Other Poetry, The New Writer and Aviary, and in several publications including Ekphrasis (Freewood Publications), How Artists See Nature (Green Pebble) and Deposition (Green Pebble).
Kiran’s first full collection, Last March, written to mark the centenary of Scott’s final expedition, was launched in March 2012 by Pindrop Press. This was produced in association with the Scott Polar Research Institute. For upcoming readings click here.
In December 2010 she was commissioned by the Cambridge Shakespeare Conference to produce a collection of poetry based upon Shakespeare’s plays. This collection, entitled Scavengers, was launched in September 2011 at the CSC’s annual conference.
Kiran graduated from Cambridge University in 2011 and is currently living and writing in London.
